Media Commands 1.00

‘Media Commands’, strange name for a player. Basically, this is a media player and you can use it as a karaoke emulator too.

It features even a lyrics editor where you can write the lyrics of your favorite songs. For sound control, it features an equalizer and a mixer. An odd part of this program is the progress bar. It looks to be circled shaped but at a closer look you will see that it is not. It will be very hard to go at a certain point of a movie for example.

If you like the visual effects you have a big list to choose from. The problem is that many of them look alike and you can’t select them from a list but you have to circle through them and you can only go forward. The program seems easy to use when you first open it but as soon as you try testing it, you’ll see that it’s not so easy.

While trying to test this program I dragged and dropped a folder into its play list but instead of showing me the content of that folder it placed the name of the folder in the play list which, of course, can’t be played. The ’search’ feature works only if you provide the name of the file and not if you you want to use parts of the name. The program is also unstable. It happened to stop while playing in shuffle mode, in the middle of the play list. Some MP3 files played by other players can’t played by this one. It might be free but that is not an excuse to not work.

The user interface is easy to use after a close look but it might be more intuitive.
